Use the TV version of your chosen player. A phone app may install on some boxes but be difficult to operate with a remote. Checking the correct app first saves time later.
Before you start
- An Android TV or Google TV with internet access
- A Google account for installing apps
- The player name and login in your GOTVMIX setup message
Search on the television
On Google TV, choose Search or use the Assistant button and say the player name. You can also browse the Apps tab. On Android TV, open Google Play and search there.
Install the compatible listing
Open the matching app listing and choose Install. If it is not available for your device, send the model to support instead of installing an unrelated phone version.
Create your profile
Open the player and select its playlist or account option. A profile name such as Living room is usually just a local label. Enter the actual server address, username and password from your setup message into the corresponding fields.
Check playback with the remote
Let the first update finish. Open a live item and an on-demand item, then check that the remote can return to the programme list. If audio plays without a picture, note the affected item and player version for support.
Common questions
The player does not appear in search.
App availability can depend on region, age restrictions and device compatibility. Check the device’s account settings and ask us for a compatible option.
Can I use my phone player on the TV?
Use a TV-compatible version when available. Touchscreen controls may not work properly with the television remote.
