A desktop media player is useful for checking whether your playlist opens. VLC accepts a network playlist, but it is not the same experience as a TV app with a built-in programme guide.
Before you start
- VLC installed from VideoLAN’s official website
- The full M3U playlist URL from your setup message
- A working internet connection
Install the genuine VLC player
Get VLC from videolan.org and select the download for your operating system. Open the installed application; you do not need a browser extension.
Open a network source
On Windows, use Media → Open Network Stream. On macOS, use File → Open Network. Paste the full M3U URL in the address field rather than a server address on its own.
Load and select an item
Choose Play or Open. If the playlist contains multiple entries, open VLC’s playlist view to choose one. Allow time for a large list to load before submitting the same request again.
Keep the URL private
Your playlist link can contain your username and password. Avoid sharing screenshots of it, and remember that recent-media history may keep previously opened addresses on a shared computer.

Ask GOTVMIX for the matching M3U link or use a player that supports your server-account format. Do not guess a playlist URL.
Where is the programme guide?
VLC’s playlist view is not a full TV programme guide. Use a compatible dedicated player if that is part of the experience you want.
